Soil Amendments

In every bag of Happy Frog® Soil Conditioner you’ll find finely-screened aged forest products, earthworm castings, and bat guano, not to mention soil microbes to help increase root efficiency and encourage nutrient uptake. We also add humic acids, which may increase the uptake of important micronutrients.

Our Original Planting Mix is a blend of soil amendments such as aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss and earthworm castings. Use our Original Planting Mix for all your gardening projects. The aged forest products and peat moss in FoxFarm Original Planting Mix may make it more effective at holding moisture around the roots of plants. In turn, this may help you obtain glorious gardening results and save water at the same time.

ferti•lome® Perlite is a mineral which is super-heated and pops like popcorn. These lightweight particles increase aeration and decrease water holding when incorporated into soil.

ferti•lome® Vermiculite is the mineral Mica, super-heated to expand much like an accordion. This mineral is other used in soil mixes to increase water-holding capacity. Many growers use vermiculite in their flats in order to create a microenvironment that will protect seeds from air currents and insulate the seeds to provide uniform germination temperatures.
